The first time that I met Rev Christian Ameh is when he spoke during the Exceeding Grace National convention of FECA Nigeria in the year 2014. That was my first national convention and it was one of the best conventions that ca Nigeria has hosted...one of the best. Rev. Christian was the person that spoke out vehemently about FECA Nigeria owning a land and a convention venue. It was not just the words that he was saying, it was more about the passion with which he was saying those words. You could see people agreeing with nods and clapping their hands during that convention and there was an uproar of Amen amongst the crowd. Rev Christian was very sure about what he was saying, that it is hight time FECA Nigeria built her own convention facility and stop paying to use one so that whenever there is going to be a national convention, everyone would convene in a place that belongs to FECA.
That convention also witnessed the presence of Mummy Edak, Mummy Sade, and Pastor Ezekiel Atang. It was one of the best, as I said before. It was one of the best conventions because the impact was mighty. Have I mentioned that Pastor David Oghueli was in that convention? Have I mentioned that Pastor Gift Esosa (a one time national president of FECA Nigeria) and many other mighty men of God were in that convention? It was in that convention that I attended my first FOSM session (even though I was a Fresher). Nobody chased me away. Is that not amazing!?
But the best of the best of convention is yet to come. I was live in the 2022 national convention of FECA which held in Lagos/Ibadan Express Way, precisely at Redemption Camp. The population of the convention was amazing. There were many senior members that attended the convention and I must say that I have seen another one of the best of conventions in FECA Nigeria. Yes, Overcomers convention is another of the best convention that I have attended so far in FECA!
In the just concluded national convention, I had the opportunity to see Rev. Christian again. This time he not only spoke again about the need for FECA Nigeria to own a convention facility of her own, he also spoke out vividly on the need to stop ( to a very large degree) inviting guest speakers and be paying them outrageous amount of money as honorarium. This is because ninety per cent of the guest ministers that come to FECA Nigeria conventions know little or nothing about the vision of FECA. They know little about it and when they come they preach what they know, thus causing more harm than good to the foundation that has been laid. According to him, FECA Nigeria is a vision that was born from the place of prayer and the ten girls that founded FECA Nigeria had a vision which brought about the organization and when you bring someone that does not know anything about FECA to come and preach in a national convention where there are Freshers who are asking questions in their hearts about FECA, there will be chaos. There will be chaos when the preacher is not a senior member. There will be chaos when the preacher knows virtually nothing about FECA. Because he cannot talk to the hearts of the Freshers. There will be chaos when the preacher is not anywhere close to sound doctrine! This vision is built on a doctrinal belief and it is not good inviting people who know nothing about FECA to preach. Because that one million naira that should be given to the preachers can be used to bless a chapter. They can give it to a chapter and let them use it to but sound system. There is no way that you will invite a FECAite to preach during convention and you will have to give the person one million naira as honorarium! That FECAite might even say no! Because he knows what this vision is about. Because he too has labored in this vision. And that money, can be used to purchase a transportation bus for a chapter, which would be used for outreaches, Unity School outreaches, Conventions, and many other purposes that serves the Gospel and this vision.
There were many things that Rev. Christian said when he was given the microphone to speak and if there is anything that I noticed about him is that the kind of fire that I saw in him in the 2014 national convention is the same fire that is currently burning in hm. This is probably because, as he would say, that "I did not hand over to the next set of leaders to rest, I handed over to continue because the anthem of FECA says ...'Till he comes again', not till I hand over." There are many of these men who have labored and God helping me, I am going to be like one of them.
