Membership of FECA Nigeria is divided into two: the student-level membership and the graduate-level membership (Senior Members). To be a Senior Member in FECA Nigeria one must attain the following criteria because they are statutory.

1. Senior Members must be FECA Nigeria members who have successfully completed their tertiary education and private vocational training.

2. Senior Members must be FECA Nigeria members who have gone into the ministry.

3. They are members who are above twenty-four years (24) and who have been very committed in FECA Chapters for at least a period of four years.

4. Members who have achieved the above and are willing to be inducted into the Forum can become senior members.

News: Senior Members Month in FECA (March, 2022)

In the year 2022, FECA Nigeria announced that the month of March is going to be a month for Senior members. This means that  all the Senior members are going to be coming back to their Home Chapters and they are going to be celebrating. There is going to be  panel discussions. This is a forum whereby the Senior members that are present would be seated and then, FECAites would write down questions and send to the closest usher to present to the Senior members. Then the Senior members are going to answer the questions. This session is very helpful because FECAites get to understand how things were done in the years past, and what their fore-fathers did to make FECA what it is today. FECAites will also learn what their elders did to sustain members, and keep them growing in the faith and in the chapter.  

There would be one-on-one talk with some of the members, like the Freshers. This one-on-one discussion with the members and Freshers is another aspect of the panel discussion forum that will help those who could not relate their problems openly. For instance, someone might be going through financial struggle for school fees, or sexually related issues like masturbation and pornography, or lesbianism, or how to manage school and FECA, time management strategies,  or other issues that faces the youths. Then, it is the role of the Senior members to have a heart to heart talk with these young ones and ensure that they get the right counseling for proper decision making.

There would also be worship sessions which would be handled by the Senior members. It is going to be great! Sometimes it is wonderful to listen to songs that the fathers sang when they were younger. It can be strange, but it is going to be mind-blowing. 

These senior members are going to be asking the chapter executives questions about what is happening so far in the chapter. They would also like to be acquainted with the executives, and their successors, of course. There are many things that are sure to happen: hangouts with the members, raking, financial support to the chapter, and other things. 

In a press release by the National External Coordinator (2020-2022), Mr. Etinosa Israel, he writes and explains the essence of having the Senior members around in the month of March, 2022. According to his tweet, he said, "Nothing thrives independent of the foundation upon which it is laid! Hence, we must step back from the thrills of discoveries, revisit that which set the precedence for us, inquire and learn. For us as an organization, we place a premium on the labors of our heroes and strive to learn from their wealth of experience and that is why in March, we would be having our Senior Members who spent and were gladly spent for the vision fellowship with us. This is to reignite the bonds of oneness amongst us. Because there’d be no new without the old, we await the fusion!"

As the month of February wraps up, FECAites across the nation are bracing up for the arrival of t heir Senior Members and the chapters are ready to entertain them. We shall be updating you on the outcome from different chapters as often as possible. In the meantime, keep the vision burning.
