The word Chapter is a word that is very perculiar to Christians all over the world because whenever they are reading the Bible, "chapter" is often pronounced. In the Christian world, chapter means a portion of the Bible that embodies a series of numbered verses which helps to make the Bible organized into segments. But in FECA, the word denotes a group, people, or family.
The word "Chapter" in FECA means the local group of people (FECAites) that one identifies with, meets with and shares the burden of FECA with. It is the closest gathering of believers that an individual belongs to, fellowships with and where he or she is an active participant. A Chapter can also be seen as one branch of a zone that has members from the same area or vicinity, who come together on a weekly basis, daily basis or on a timely program schedule, with the sole purpose of teaching, learning, equipping and encouraging one another in the faith and doctrinal belief of FECA. This Chapter is where the first-timers or Freshers are "initiated" into FECA through what is known as Freshers banquet. It is the responsibility of the Chapter to see that the first timer, or Fresher is taught the tenets of FECA through the Foundation Bible School, and also to make sure that the individual is baptized in the Holy Ghost with evidence of Speaking in tongues, because FECAites are people that pray in tongues often. Always.
In case a Frehser is in need of spiritual guidance, it is the responsibility of the Chapter to provide this spiritual training for the Fresher and to equip him or her for Kingdom battles. The chapter can do this through the help of her Senior Members who are still around (cases differ) and through a systematic outplay of timely crusades, hangouts, retreats, and Bible seminars.
It is the chapter that brings out the best in the individual most of the time. There are people who have given testimony of how they nurtured their talents in one chapter or another.Others have discovered purpose in one FECA chapter or another, and to pursue their ambitions. And yet, many have attained spiritual heights because of the teachings they recieved from FECA meetings in their chapters.
It is in the chapter that you get to find the future National executives of FECA Nigeria. It is in the chapter that they are trained to become Zonal and Regional Coordinators. It is in the chapter that one gets to first serve in any capacity in FECA before actually going to the Zonal and Regional levels. The chapter is where he or she gets his first training.
