The Federation of Colleges Ex-Students' Christian Association (FECA) Nigeria stands as a prominent Christian body fostering spiritual growth, leadership, and unity among former students of Nigerian colleges through its national conventions. Since its early foundations, FECA Nigeria has consistently organized annual national and regional Conventions   designed to deepen faith, impart Biblical principles, and empower men and women for relevant kingdom service. Spanning nearly three decades, these conventions celebrate a rich history of impactful themes, guest speakers, and revival initiatives that have shaped the Christian landscape in Nigeria.

The history of FECA Nigeria  national conventions can be traced back to 1995 when they first gathered under the theme “Vessels Unto Honor”. This early milestone set a high spiritual standard and showcased FECA Nigeria’s commitment to nurturing dedicated servants of God. The convention fostered a sense of purpose and honor for God’s kingdom in the hearts of attendees, marking a revival point for members of the association.

Over the years, each convention carried a distinct theme that reflected the spiritual and societal needs of the period. The congregation in 1998 was inspired by the theme “Go Forward”, encouraging believers to advance boldly in their faith journeys despite challenges. This theme was followed by the 2000 convention titled “The Royal Demand”, calling for commitment to holiness and kingdom standards befitting God’s children.

In the early 2000s, FECA conventions continued to grow in influence and attendance. The 2002 national convention, themed “Peculiar People”, emphasized the identity and calling of Christians to live distinct and exemplary lives. The 2004 convention, “The Rebirth of the Nation”, highlighted the association’s role in national transformation through spiritual revival and responsible citizenship.

The decade from 2006 to 2022 witnessed further consolidation of the FECA Nigeria vision through purposeful conventions. Themes such as “Mount Zion” (2006), “Heroes” (2008), and “No Limits” (2010) empowered believers to see their potential beyond societal limitations. The 2012 convention, “The Principles of Christ”, was a deep dive into living by Christ-centered values, while the 2014 theme, “Exceeding Grace”, celebrated the supernatural favor that enables believers to overcome life’s trials.

In more recent years, FECA Nigeria has continued to inspire and challenge its members with powerful themes. The 2016 convention titled “The Kingdom First” reminded believers to prioritize God’s kingdom above all else. This commitment was further amplified in 2018 with the theme “Jesus”, focusing on the person and work of Christ as the foundation of all Christian living. Most recently, the 2020 and 2022 conventions, themed “Kingdom Addicts” and “Overcomers” respectively, have called Christians to an intense devotion and victory in every area of life, marking a new era of spiritual awakening within the association.

These conventions are typically held over several days—with the latest being the 15th National Convention which held from August 28 to September 1, 2024, in Abuja—a city symbolic for unity and progress (fecanigeria.org). The 2024 event promises rich sessions designed to revive and equip men for kingdom impact in today’s changing world. The dynamic nature of these gatherings reflects the FECA creed that their conventions are life-transforming, blending worship, teachings, and fellowship for holistic spiritual growth.

FECA Nigeria leverages modern communication channels to engage with its members and the broader Christian community. Their official Facebook Page showcases updates, worship snippets, and testimonies from past conventions, whilst their vibrant Instagram Account  highlights event moments and encourages interaction. These platforms also serve as spaces for members and followers to share which convention impacted them most, fostering a strong sense of belonging.
