Inside California’s 199 Billionaires, What You Should Know
» 201 Views

California is not just America’s Golden State—it’s the world’s billionaire hotspot.
California is not just America’s Golden State—it’s the world’s billionaire hotspot. With 199 billionaires calling it home, California has more more ultra-wealthy residents than Germany, India, or even the UK.
If California were a country, it would rank 4th globally in billionaire population—behind only the U.S. as a whole, China, and perhaps one or two others.
From Silicon Valley’s tech empires to the luxury mansions of Bel-Air and Malibu, wealth is heavily concentrated along the California coast. Meanwhile, other U.S. states like Alaska and West Virginia don’t have a single billionaire.
This contrast shines a light on the wealth gap in America—where a handful of regions dominate global fortunes, while others are left far behind.
