What does i feel like to marry a FECA sister?

This is one of the most interesting sessions for me during the FOSM session where Senior members talked in a panel. The time when Papa Dee asked one of the senior members this question, it was very “vawulent” a question. Let me come in fully.

His name is Engr. Arino Ogbede? And he joined FECA in the year 2006. His home chapter is FECA Benin 1. He has served in various capacities there in FECA Benin zone, and some of the offices where he served were FCN Coordinator, that was in UNIBEN, External Coordinator, President, Zonal Coordinator and others. I don’t really know whether he served at the national level, or maybe I did not capture the moment when he mentioned his office at the national level because I was writing fast trying to get as much details as possible, If you noticed, I did not even get his name correctly due to the fact that words were coming and going pretty fast. But the one thing that I did capture was that he said he is the only employee in his engineering company that is being promoted yearly.

According to the story he told us, (I’m trying to remember as much details as possible and not to exaggerate anything or be biased at all), he said in response to the question, that all his life he had never dated a lady...never had a girlfriend, and never did. Because he grew up in a family where there are no females, he had absolutely no idea how to relate with the female gender and to make things worse, he attended a single-sex school (Boys school). Oh, that did not end there, because during his university days, he studied a course that is highly masculine-dominated: Engineering. So, the whole thing about girls: how to talk to girls, how to relate to girls and all that was never in him. He even gave this illustration:

          “When two guys are together, and one of the guys tells the other one that he just got a new hair-cut from this barbing saloon. The normal response from the first guy would be that, OK that is just news to me. But it is different with the ladies. If a lady wants to drink water now, she will just tell you that she used to work in a pure water factory before. And as a guy, he never could make anything from that comment. So relating with the ladies was a huge problem.

The first time he proposed to a lady (Sister XYZ, who happens to be a FECAite), the lady told him NO. According to him that was his first attempt and it did not go well. In fact, he had to meet another sister and tell her how he feels about Sister XYZ. You know naa, ladies advise works like magic. So this lady gave him the best advice ever. She told him to just try and become friends with Sister XYZ instead of  going straight to propose and all that. He should just be nice to her, be calling her, spend time talking about anything and everything she is interested in and just make her his friend.

And that was what he did.

So at a point, Sister XYZ was like, “Why are you being nice to me?” Guess what he said? Me I don’t remember how he put it (to be frank here), but it is something like, “I’m just trying to be a good friend to you”. To cut the short story long, sorry, to cut the long story short, after some time, he proposed to Sister XYZ again and she said YES.

That was how they got married and are happy till date with children.
