Ugep, Cross River State – The importance of making informed career choices as students transition from secondary school was the focus of a thought-provoking panel session at the FECA Nigeria Cross River South zone JSOP 2025 event, held in the city of Ugep on the 8th of March, 2025. The session featured Mr. Joel Ukpe as the keynote speaker, who delivered an insightful and impactful address on this critical topic.
In his speech, Mr. Ukpe delved extensively into why career choice is a pivotal decision for students at this stage of their lives. He highlighted how making the right choices early on can shape their future success and personal fulfillment. Furthermore, he stressed the indispensable role parents play in guiding their children through this process, encouraging active involvement and support to help students discover their strengths and passions.
The session was not only educational but also highly interactive, sparking curiosity and engagement among students, teachers, and school administrators in attendance. Many participants seized the opportunity to ask questions, seek clarity, and gain deeper insights into how to navigate the often-challenging process of career selection.
The event was masterfully anchored by Ma Destiny Aniyom, who served as the compere for the session, ensuring a smooth flow of activities and fostering an atmosphere of learning and inspiration.
