Mrs Afoma Onyechi is a FOSM member in FECA Nigeria, Nsukka chapter. She served as a one time General Secretary in FECA Nsukka and she studied Pharmacy in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Today, she is married and lives in the United States of America with her family.
One of the striking things that she did when she was in the university environment was to write a short note on fashion, which is related to ladies. I am going to be sharing her write up here so that ladies will benefit from her knowledge because she was very much into fashion while a student in the University of Nigeria Nsukka.
According to her written work, cosmetics are pharmaceutical products that are applied to improve the face and add glamour to it. It is intended to improve a person's appearance. They are not just the normal lipsticks, mascaras, gels, powder and all the sort that we know about. Cosmetics includes deodorants, body sprays, gels, after-=shaves, hair creams, bathing gels and the rest.
To be on a safer side, one needs to kniw that the application of daily makeup have been proven to be harmful to the body. This is because our body pores have grown weak to the constant application of cosmetics and thus the body needs some break. This is not to say that one should not apply make up, but, there should be a limit to the way she applies, because the body pores can be weaken by these chemicals if applied too frequently.
Also, if one is applying any form of make up, she should be sure to remove the make up with a make up remover. Thus any form of water-proof product is not advised to be used at all.
Again, if a lady cannot avoid liquid foundations, then, she should avoid those ones that have silicon bases because these ones they cause acne.
Furthermore, one should avoid using make up products that have passed their expiry dates. Just check the expiry date of the make up that you are buying and ensure that the expiry date is not passed because the effects of using expired make up products are catastrophic.
If a lady must apply make up daily, then she should use earth tone colors. Brushes and sponges must be washed constantly. This is important, because of dust, bacterial infection and unwanted attractions (viruses and the like).
Before a lady should buy sa concealer,. or a foundation, she should always test the color inside her wrist. This is because there are some concealers that cannot be trusted. They can only make things worse.
To prevent your lips from feeling dry when applying lipstick, always apply a lip balm before applying the lipstick.
Finally, remember that what works foi other people may not work for you, so know what fits your skin color and type.
