Have you ever given someone wrong advice before? Or have you ever received wrong advice? Well, Maxwell had. He gave someone a wrong advice, and it ended up badly as it blew up on the faces of both him and his friend. His seventeen years old friend asked sixteen years old Maxwell, if it was okay to date someone, and he said yes. He'd stand by him and then after eighteen months, Maxwell's friend got someone pregnant with a child. He didn't plan for that neither did Maxwell, but it happened. 

        That's how much dishevelment wrong counsel brings into the life of a person, it has put the life's of many at a standstill leaving so many confused and broken. This should be why God said in Proverbs.11.14: “Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.” and also in Psalm.1.1: “Blessed is the man that walk not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.”

 Just as the scriptures above tells without counsel many would fall, imagine having no one to talk to about expanding your business or starting up one, you won't know enough to do anything. But where and from whom we get our counsel matters a lot just as getting it.

 The Bible tells us that blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, the counsel we get from various sources may seem okay to us, it can be very appealing, but it may not be right if it's God's standard or worse it might not even be wrong at all I mean wanting to expand a business isn't wrong, but it's just not what God is saying. To many of us Google and Wikipedia has become our counsellors, and we've forgotten that only the counsel of the Lord would stand. Psalm 33:11

         We have forgotten our very own counsellor, the Holy Spirit. We've kept him aside, just as Maxwell's friend did. We've decided to run our business, our careers, our lives without Him, forgetting the bigger picture, that one of the reasons of His coming to communicate the mind of God to us concerning every matter. A lot of us has shut Him out of our lives but not giving heed to Him nor asking Him to intervene.

 But amazingly there is still room, you can decide today to seek only God's counsel by His Spirit, so you won't fall prey to wolves in sheep's clothing. God is a loving Father, seek His counsel today!
