FECA Ekomiman Chapter Celebrates Successful Sisters’ Color Picnic at University of Uyo
22 Views

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, the Ekomiman Chapter of the Federation of Colleges Ex-Students’ Christian Association (FECA) Nigeria hosted its annual Sisters’ Color Picnic at the University of Uyo Annex field (off Plaza, Annex Campus, Ikpa Road area). The event, themed around “The Spirit-led girl” (drawing from Romans 8:14 and John 10:27), brought together young women for an afternoon of vibrant fellowship, laughter, bonding, games, and spiritual refreshment.
A post-event update shared by the chapter captured the spirit of the day: “Our Sisters’ Color Picnic was a beautiful success. It was such a refreshing time of laughter, bonding, games, and shared moments. The atmosphere was filled with joy, love, and vibrant colors that made the day truly special. We are grateful for every sister who showed up and made it memorable. Moments like this remind us of the beauty of fellowship and unity. More beautiful moments ahead 💖” Hashtags included #FecaNigeria, #Fecaekomimanchapter, #Sisterspicnic, and #Spiritledgirls.
Photographs from the event show a relaxed, joyful gathering of young women seated in a circle on a large blue patterned mat spread across the grassy field. Participants wore colorful attire—bright reds, blues, yellows, and other vibrant pieces—perfectly embodying the “Color Picnic” theme. Some sat barefoot in the casual picnic style, while others engaged closely, with notebooks, pens, and a Bible visible on the mat, suggesting moments of sharing, discussion, and prayer. In the background, the open field and institutional buildings of the university campus provided a serene, open-air setting under an overcast sky. The scene captured genuine sisterhood and community.

Highlights and Activities
The picnic featured a balanced mix of fun and purposeful programming aligned with FECA’s mission. Attendees enjoyed delicious food and refreshments, group photos, bonding moments, games, a food competition, a “finesse class” focused on personal development and etiquette, giveaways, and inspirational sessions centered on the Word. The relaxed “come-as-you-are” invitation encouraged sisters to arrive in their favorite colors, ready for good vibes, laughter, and meaningful connections without pressure.
About FECA Ekomiman Chapter and FECA Nigeria
FECA Nigeria, formally known as Federation of Colleges Ex-Students’ Christian Association, is a non-denominational Christian youth organization founded in 1990. It unites ex-students from federal and state colleges and secondary schools across the country. With over 147 chapters in 31 states, FECA focuses on “redeeming the desolation of our land and generation” by raising God-centered leaders through the Word, prayer, and outreaches.
The Ekomiman Chapter (also styled Ekom-Iman or Ekomiman), based in the Akwa Ibom zone of FECA’s Eastern region, is one of the newer chapters, established in 2021. It has quickly become a vibrant hub for fellowship, character development, and spiritual growth among young Christian women and men in the Uyo area.
Events like the Sisters’ Color Picnic reflect FECA’s broader vision of creating spaces for young people—especially sisters—to build lasting friendships, grow spiritually, develop character, and support one another while enjoying wholesome community activities. The chapter regularly organizes programs such as character clinics, love feasts, youth conferences, and Bible-focused gatherings that emphasize practical faith and unity.
The success of the April 25, 2026, picnic underscores the chapter’s commitment to fostering intentional sisterhood in a fun, colorful, and Christ-centered environment. As the post concluded, participants and organizers look forward to “more beautiful moments ahead.”
FECA Ekomiman continues to welcome new members and interested young women into its family-like community of faith and support. For more information on the chapter or upcoming events, interested individuals can connect through FECA Nigeria’s official channels or the local Ekomiman page.
