Torrential rains have triggered severe flash flooding in Qinzhou city, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, forcing the evacuation of residents and submerging vehicles across several neighborhoods.

Heavy downpours on April 27 dumped more than 270 millimeters of rain in 24 hours in parts of the region, with some areas seeing extreme bursts of up to 160 mm in a single hour. Rescue teams used inflatable boats to ferry people to safety as floodwaters rose rapidly. According to the Guardian Online newspaper no fatalities have been reported so far, but authorities continue to monitor for risks of further flooding and landslides.

Local governments have activated emergency responses, with warnings issued for multiple southern provinces including Guangxi and Guangdong
