Trump: “We Will Be Leaving Very Soon” – US to Pull Back from Strait of Hormuz

President Donald Trump has directly stated that the United States will be withdrawing from the Strait of Hormuz area very soon. He told reporters in the Oval Office: “We’ll be leaving very soon,” adding that the exit could happen within “two or three weeks.”

Trump emphasized that America doesn’t rely on the waterway for its own oil needs and urged other countries that depend on it — especially in Europe and Asia — to step up and secure it themselves. He said the strait will likely “open up automatically ” or naturally once the US pulls back, because Iran has little strength left after the military campaign.

This reflects Trump’s consistent America First stance: after achieving the main goal of preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons, the US should not continue policing global shipping lanes indefinitely. Hi He made it clear: “We have nothing to do with what happens in the strait.”

While the situation remains fluid with a fragile ceasefire in place and ongoing pressure on Iran to fully reopen the strait safely, Trump’s “we’re leaving soon” message is genuine and aligns with his long-held view that other nations must protect their own energy interests.
