Benin City, March 24, 2025 – The Federation of Colleges Ex-Students’ Christian Association (FECA Nigeria) has announced the launch of a new mission in Northern Nigeria, aimed at promoting youth development, faith-building, and nation-building in the region. This initiative aligns with FECA’s long-standing vision of addressing societal challenges and empowering young people to become agents of positive change.

Mission Objectives

The new mission seeks to:

Promote Discipleship and Revival: Strengthen the spiritual growth of youths in Northern Nigeria through mentorship and faith-based programs.

Encourage Fruitfulness: Focus on soul-winning efforts to inspire moral and spiritual transformation among young people.

Build Organizational Structures: Establish sustainable frameworks to ensure the continuity of FECA’s work in the region.

The organization emphasized that this mission is part of its broader goal to "redeem the desolation of our land and generation," a vision that has guided its activities since its founding in 1990 by ten girls from Federal Government Girls College (FGGC) Calabar, Cross River State.

Why Northern Nigeria?

FECA Nigeria  highlighted the unique challenges faced by youths in Northern Nigeria, including limited access to educational resources, faith-based mentorship, and opportunities for personal development. By expanding its reach into this region, FECA aims to bridge these gaps and provide a platform for young people to thrive spiritually and socially.

Leadership and Implementation

The initiative will be spearheaded by FECA’s national leadership team under the tenure theme, “The Kingdom” (Isaiah 2:1-2, Psalms 78:67-72). The National President, Kenneth Louis, outlined key strategies during the recent National Congress in Aba, Abia State, which included feasibility studies, project management structures, and budgeting for 2025.

Special emphasis will be placed on leadership training programs scheduled later this year in Edo Zone to equip local leaders with the skills necessary to implement the mission effectively.

A Legacy of Youth Empowerment

Since its inception in 1990, FECA Nigeria has grown into a nationwide movement with over 1,000 chapters across various states. The organization is committed to fostering integrity, excellence, and accountability among Nigerian youths while addressing pressing societal issues such as moral decline and lack of mentorship.
