Save Generation Next and Some of the Gifts FECAites Give
98 Views

During Save Generation Next (SGN), there are many things that FECAites give to the Primary and Nursery schools that they visit. But before we look at the gifts that are being delivered, let us first recall a short explanation of Save Generation Next from a previous post on this website.
“Save Generation Next (popularly known as SGN) is an annual program in FECA Nigeria where FECAites go to secondary schools, primary schools, and even nursery schools to preach the Word of God to the young people of the area. There are many people that are in need of the Gospel, and it is the responsibility of FECAites to reach out to these ones now that they are very young and preach to them. Because there is a high rate of cultism in many of the secondary schools in Nigeria, there is the need to catch them young.
Many prominent preachers during FECA Nigeria conventions have spoken on the need to catch these little ones now that they are still young. One of them, Pastor Ezekiel Atang, has commented that the formative years of a man’s life define to a large extent the outcome of that person’s future. What this means is that the formative years of Henry’s life, for instance, are from the age range of 14 to 19 or 20, when he is in JSS 3 to undergraduate level. At this stage of his life, anything that he ventures into becomes what he will grow with. If in secondary school he becomes a Viking, he is likely to carry that lifestyle into the University and all through his undergraduate days, he would be a menace to the university. On the other hand, if he becomes a preacher of the Word, he is apt to carry that lifestyle into the University and beyond. Many people that have gone into politics today did so because they were into politics, one way or another, during secondary and University days. This is where FECA comes in.”
The Gifts FECAites Give During Save Generation Next
During Save Generation Next, FECAites do not only preach the Word of God; they also bring material gifts to the schools as a way of showing love, care, and encouragement. These gifts are usually tailored to the age group and needs of the pupils.
Some of the common gifts include:
- Exercise books and writing materials: FECAites often bring exercise books, pencils, biros, erasers, sharpeners, and rulers to help the pupils with their schoolwork.
- School bags and uniforms: In some cases, FECAites provide school bags and uniforms to pupils who may not have them, especially in rural or under‑resourced schools.
- Food items and drinks: To show practical love, FECAites sometimes distribute biscuits, snacks, and drinks to the pupils after the program.
- Christian literature: FECAites give Christian storybooks, tracts, and Bible‑based materials to the pupils, encouraging them to read and grow in their faith.
- Prizes and awards: During the program, FECAites often organize quiz competitions, drama presentations, and games, and the winners receive prizes such as notebooks, pens, or small gifts.
These gifts are not just about material things; they are about showing the love of Christ in a tangible way. When a child receives a gift from a FECAite, it is a reminder that someone cares about them and wants them to grow in the knowledge of God.
The Impact of Save Generation Next
Save Generation Next is more than just a one‑day event; it is a long‑term investment in the lives of young people. By reaching out to them at an early age, FECAites are helping to shape their future and protect them from negative influences such as cultism and moral decay.
The program also serves as a platform for evangelism, where many young people have come to know Christ for the first time. Through preaching, testimonies, and fellowship, FECAites are planting seeds of faith that will grow over time.
In conclusion, Save Generation Next is a powerful initiative that combines spiritual outreach with practical support. The gifts that FECAites give are not just tokens; they are symbols of love, hope, and encouragement for the next generation. May God continue to bless Save Generation Next and the work of FECAites in reaching out to the young people of Nigeria.
