About Eastern Regional Conventions: 1995 to 2023

Federation of Colleges Ex-Students Christian Association, FECA has been existing since the late 1990's and it is a fact that the organization has been waxing strong ever since. The organization was founded in the year 1990 by a group of ten girls. The organization has an organogram that shows the relationship between the different people in FECA. An organogram, according to Cambridge Dictionary, is a "diagram that shows the structure of an organization and the relationship between the different people, departments, and jobs at the different levels within that organization".

Since the regions are very vital in the chain of existence, it thus is necessary to take a look at the history of what is now known as Regional Convention.

Regional Convention in Eastern Region started in the 1995 to 1998 tenure. That was the first tenure to host regional convention that ever existed in FECA Nigeria. And the first Zone to host Eastern Regional Convention is Enugu Zone. The theme of the convention for that year was "The Vision of FECA" and the Regional Coordinators were Abaye Belu and Uchechi ifeanacho.

Regional Convention that succeeded the one of the 1995 - 1998 tenure was held in Imo Zone during the 1998-2000 leadership tenure. It was the second Eastern Regional Convention of FECA. The theme of the convention was "The Ministry and You." The Regional coordinator and Regional Secretary were Mr. Obiyo Nwaigwe and Onyinyechi Anyanwu.

The third Eastern Regional Conventions of FECA was held in Cross River South Zone and it was in the 2000-2002 leadership tenure. The theme of the Convention was "Gathering of Sons" and the Regional executives during the tenure in question were Kingsley Lebo and Amasin Ekpe.

The fourth Eastern Regional Convention of FECA was held in Enugu Zone. That was during the 2002-2004 leadership tenure with Effah Ettah and Udoka Nnadozie as the Regional Coordinator and Regional Secretary respectively. The theme of the Convention was "When the Perfect comes."

2004-2006 tenure was another period that saw Eastern Regional Convention in a different height. It was championed by Chimaobi Nweke and Chinonso Ajuonu who were the Regional Coordinator and Regional Secretary respectively. With the theme, "Built to Rebuild", they were able to host the convention in a grand style. This convention happened in Akwa Ibom Zone.

Abia Zone hosted the 2006-2008 Eastern Regional Convention. it was a convention of immense impact because there were many people in attendance and the souls were touched with indelible spiritual changes. The Convention's theme was "My Inheritance," and the Regional Coordinator was Samuel Iyeneabasi while the Regional Secretary was Augustine Ugbari.

Rivers Zone took over the baton and hosted the 2008-2010 Easter Regional Convention with the theme: "Kingdom Influence." It was Henry Ahanekwu and Ugochi Shirley West that served as the Regional Coordinator and Secretary respectively.

Cross River North Zone, for the first time, hosted the 2010-2012 Eastern Regional Convention with the theme: "Revolution." This convention was a huge success. It was mind blowing. It was Dope! Franklin Chuks and Akujiobi Nwabugo were the Regional executives of that tenure.

Malachy Onuwa and Blessing Nwafor were the regional executives in the 2012-2014 leadership tenure that saw the birthing of "Ministers" in Ebonyi Zone.

Anambra Zone hosted "Kingdom Age" in the 2014-2016 leadership tenure and the regional executives were Chukwudi Erondu and Ifeoma Dike.

In 2016-2018 tenure, Chinonso Okoye and Idiwogu Irene facilitated the "Restoration" Regional Convention in Akwa Ibom Zone.

Then in 2018-2020 tenure, Samuel Edem and Amarachi Elekwachi served as Regional executives during the "Relevance" Convention in Imo Zone.

In year 2023, there was another eastern regional convention and this one was hosted by Cross River South zone. This convention held when Mr Louis Kenneth was the regional coordinator and Miss Glory Paul was the regional secretary. The convention is a very big convention, featuring many guest ministers with the theme "Greater Glory". Details about this convention can be found here.
