Legislative Mentorship Initiative is one the national program in Nigeria at the moment and Mercy Abdulsalam, one of FECA Nigeria former national vice president is one of the very few importuned to be in this wonderful program. She "was inducted along with other 73 young Social Impact Leaders selected from a pool of over 4000 applicants from across the 36 states and six-geopolitical region of Nigeria into the highly competitive first cohort of the Legislative Mentorship Initiative."
According to her, she says, "
The LMI is a unique initiative that identify, train and equip Nigeria's next generation of public sector leaders.
My journey over the last two weeks into the 5weeks residential flagship programme has been a transformative one. I have had the opportunity to learn first hand from seasoned and top Policymakers, leaders from diverse works of life and young change makers from other parts of Nigeria. Specifically, I have had the opportunity to be trained in the following course modules: Inclusive Governance for Nation Building, Gender Inclusion In National Development, Political Communication, Method Tools and Techniques, Trajectory of the Nigerian Constitution, just to mention a few.
I am ready and excited about week three which commences tomorrow and I look forward to what the LMI team have prepared for our hearing, learning, interactions with great men on great topics that concerns the development of our great country Nigeria. I want to use this medium to appreciate God Almighty for this opportunity and my darling husband Michael Abdullahi for his hand holding, support and love all through the application process and now that I am in the fellowship. Thank You."
