Neh.8.10 -for the joy of the Lord is your strength and stronghold. (AMP)

 

     Imagine having a messed up life, be it your relationships or your job. Yeah I know, it sucks big time.

But then, Job had worse. Yeah, He had everything one day and the next, he lost it all... Kids, wealth,basically everything he ever owned .

He did lament at the state of his life but he didn't let that be his end. He refused to be broken beyond repair. He picked up the broken pieces of his life and made it into another beautiful picture. More than any man could ever hope for this time.

        Now, try putting yourself in Job's shoes... Many would have given up after the first blow. And many would have completely died after the last blow. 

 

2Cor.7.4b - ... with all our tribulation and in spite of it, [I am filled with comfort] I am overflowing with joy.(Amplified Version)

  

  However, Paul tells us as believers that "in spite" of our many tribulations; meaning trials will definitely come . You cannot avoid trials because you signed up for it the minute you looked upon God and made that decision to let him be your all in all.

But, Paul tells us that in spite of these tribulation, he is filled with comfort and overflowing joy. Wow, shocking fact !

     Paul had his share of trials just as Jesus did. However, he didn't let it get the best of him. He kept on rejoicing, He kept on praying, He kept on praising. His heart was filled to the brim with Joy like never before. And that alone, helped him overcome his many troubles.

 

Isa.12.3 - Therefore with joy you will draw water From the wells of salvation.

      Joy is a fruit of the Spirit. It means it can only come from within and be expressed without.

When you live a joy-filled life, your existence begins to take a new meaning. Things that used to bother before,stop bothering you .You begin to experience a calmness in your spirit and you begin to align and be one with your Spirit-man.

Joy confuses the enemy. 

This is because they wonder why none of their ploys ever gets you riled . They begin to wonder why you keep smiling and seem unshakeable.... Yeah they begin to wonder a lot of things.

But that is what having a joyful spirit entails. You smile even in the face of calamity. You rejoice with a dance even in the face of tribulations. 

 

Phil.4.4 - Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
