Fresher Banquet is a big program. To say the obvious, it is a program that is meant for the fresh graduates from secondary schools. It is a formal way of welcoming them into FECA, meanwhile, congratulating them on successfully finishing secondary school.

This banquet helps to direct the young school leavers on career choices, course to choose in tertiary institution, and also, enlightenment on time management. There are many other things that are been done in Freshers Banquet. Some of them include:

Things done during Freshers Banquet Program

• Talk session - where the students are allowed to ask questions about life, relationship and money etc to senior members who are delighted to give life-changing answers to the students


• Dance 


• Music


• Word session, usually a charge from a distinguished speaker


• Spoken Words session


• Drama, of course


• Pop corn. I know what you are thinking. Smiles.


• Special presentations by freshers


• Talent hunt


• Banquet. Proper.


• Other things, like FAFing, taking of pictures, and the like.

Preparation for Freshers Banquet is usually a tough one, depending on the Chapter. This is because one of the biggest channels of getting young people saved for the Lord is through Fresher Banquet and it has to be done well. The more the people who actively participate in the outreaches for Fresher Banquet, the more fruitful the turn out would be. The efforts put into the preparation, coupled with prayers will help immensely. Some of the things FECAites do while preparing for Freshers Banquet include: outreaches, movie nights, secondary school rally etc.

That being said, FECA Nigeria Okokomaiko chapter is having a movie night for the Freshers as a pre-banquet welcome service. The date is 26th June, 2022.
