Every year in FECA Nigeria, there is a program that is celebrated in commemoration of the Independence Day, which is OCtober 1. Anytime this date approaches, FECAites know that it is the New Nigeria Project at hand.

So what is the New Nigeria Project (NNP)?

According to FECA Nigeria, the New Nigeria Project is the program that is meant to redeem the desolation of our land and generation. This is part of the reason why FECAites are all out every year, enlightening people about the need for a new Nigeria. There is more to this though. There is more to the NNP. The New Nigeria Project (NNP) is a yearly program in FECA  Nigeria that positively communicates the message of national transformation through personal development and personal transformation. It is devoid of any political notion. This means that the name has nothing to do with the idea of a group trying to create a new nation or something. It has no political or sectional denotation to it. This program is highly focused on personal development as will be explained in the next paragraph. It is also worth noting that when you as an individual is well adjusted in the society, there is every tendency that the next person who is watching you will try to be like you, because you are well adjusted. Everyone likes to identify with success, therefore when you are succeeding, someone will be watching from a distance and the person will preach your message of success, even without your notice.

    Let me explain.

Most of the time in New Nigeria Project, there are FECAites, Senior Friends, as they are often called, who are asked to talk in a panel session and when they're asked what this NNP is all about, they would tell their stories. One of such stories is that of Okorie Jacob, a FECAite in FECA Enugu zone, who once told of his experience while he was a student of University of Nigeria Nsukka. According to him, he set a good example for the entire department by practicing overlooked hygienic habits. According to him, there are certain things that we as FECAites are meant to teach others. For instance, the single act of throwing away refuse on the roadside, is forbidden. Because when you do such a thing, there is going to be litter everywhere and this makes the environment unhealthy. Litter has a home, you should use it. Sometimes, when there is nowhere close to dump litter, put it inside your pocket or your school bag until you get to a waste bin and then you can dump it there. This is one of the things that NNP talks about. Because NNP is advocating for a New Nigeria, (which is devoid of any political affinity or presumption), but personal transformation, in the place of hygiene, is thus a necessity.

The fact that there is always OCtober 1 means that New Nigeria Project will always come yearly. In the year 2021, the New Nigeria project was successful and it happened in the month of October, as usual. This is a yearly program in FECA that is meant to spread the Gospel to the innermost parts of the streets and villages with the joy. Read the message here.
