K.C. Onyike: How FECA Relationships Have Affected My Life
101 Views
In 2022, at FECA Nigeria's 14th National Convention—a major annual gathering where members from across Nigeria unite for worship, teaching, and networking—senior leaders shared personal stories. One highlight was Mr. K.C. Onyike addressing a key question: "How relevant are the relationships you struck in FECA to your life today?" His response showed the lasting power of FECA bonds.
Mr. K.C. Onyike joined FECA in 1995 at the Owerri chapter, a vibrant group in Imo State focused on youth outreach. He quickly rose, serving first as Outreach Committee Chairperson, organizing street evangelism and school visits. He advanced to Outreach Coordinator, managing larger events, then became Chapter President, leading meetings and discipleship programs. By 1998-2000, he was National Outreach Coordinator, coordinating nationwide efforts. Today, he's an architect designing homes and offices, a clergy member in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, and a Youth Pastor mentoring teens—proof of FECA's leadership training.
Answering the question, he shared warmly: "When I came into FECA, members became my closest friends. We did life together—gisting late into nights, playing football on dusty fields, cooking jollof rice or egusi soup at someone's home, all beyond regular fellowship Sundays. When we graduated university, those ties didn't break; trust deepened." Today, his architecture clients include fellow FECAites. For example, Owerri friends with a company project involving huge sums trusted him for phase one. He delivered excellently. Phase two flopped with a replacement hire, so they returned, saying, "We trust you." Competence sealed it—FECA's Talents Squad back then let youths showcase skills like building models or public speaking, building his reputation. "Relationships are crucial in FECA, even now," he concluded. They open doors, sustain trust, and fuel success.
