How to Prepare for FECA Nigeria Conventions

Conventions are events that mark the gathering of a multitude of people who share the same faith and belief. From the definition of the dictionary, convention means, "a large meeting of the members of a profession, a political party, etc".  It is synonymous with the word conference. Over the years, many conventions have been going on in the history of FECA Nigeria. And if you are looking for some of the material and immaterial things to carry along while preparing for convention, then you are at the right page. Read on.

FECA Nigeria has been conducting conventions for over three decades and from the stories told by  some Senior Members from Nsukka chapter, conventions in FECA were attended only by some selected representatives in each chapter. That is, only a few persons were chosen  to attend conventions. But today, many people, all members, friends and invitees are welcome to attend FECA convention. Buses are hired, people sponsor trips to convention and they get blessed. Some people even go the extra mile of paying for those who could not afford the money for convention, especially by  Freshers.

Freshers are young people who are attending FECA meetings newly. They are "newbies".  There are many meanings that can be derived from that word, fresher. But the meaning in FECA is a new comer. The meaning should however, not be ambiguous. When a Fresher wants to attend a convention for the first time, he or she probably might not be able to decipher what and what he would need in the convention. This article is meant for the Fresher, The first thing he or she should do is to MAKE A LIST.

Whenever conventions come up, a Fresher always has it in mind that she is going into a new territory in another part of Nigeria and she will be far away from home. She should let her parents or know where she is going and sometimes, there are Freshers' parents who collect the numbers of the External Coordinator or the President to keep in touch with them concerning their ward. Enough of the chat and let us go right into the things that are necessary for the Fresher to consider while going for a convention.
To be reminded, the different conventions and the location of the convention can greatly determine the materials that you go with. For instance, going to convention in a place like Sokoto will require a different pack when compared to going for a convention in Enugu, due to variance in climate. So choose what you need and remember that the items listed here are only suggested items based on experience and research.
