Role of the General Secretary in FECA

  • The General Secretary in Federation of Colleges Ex-Students' Christian Association, FECA, is someone who plays the administrative role in the organization. As someone that plays the administrative role, he is responsible for the smooth-running of the organization. 



    According to Indeed.com, the administrator is someone that "..performs clerical duties to help an office run smoothly and efficiently. Their duties include answering phone calls and emails, greeting and directing office visitors to designated meeting areas and building spreadsheets or presentations for leadership staff." That is the definition from Indeed.com. But in FECA, the case is similar, just a few changes here and there and you will know the main idea.



    In FECA, the General Secretary is responsible for the above metioned duties plus, the fact that he should be in custody of all FECA stationery and issue out some promptly on appropriate request. Secondly, he shall, on the advice of the President, summon all Executive Council Meetigns. He or she shall conduct and handle all official correspondence of FECA. And, he or she shall keep the entire Executive Council members informed  regularly on all policies and major events of FECA. Also, he shall be responsible for dispatching and writing of all monthly reports, programs and progress of the chapter fellowship to the Zonal Secretariate. Again, he or she shall moderate the Executive Council meetings and General meetings. He or she shall also be reponsible to the chapter presidient, Zonal leaders, regional leaders and the national leaders of FECA.
